Exciting iPad News!
We have gratefully received a much anticipated shipment of iPads this term from Distance Education. We will add them to our growing library of student resources. Staff have already started training in the use of iPads with a particular focus on applications for students with special needs. We hope to trial the iPads with some of our students throughout Semester 2.
The DESU has invested considerably in technology this year and the teachers are keen to implement what they have been learning with their students. We have been hearing very good things about a number of special schools that have been trialling iPads with their students and they are reporting excellent engagement and improvement in communication skills. Warringa Park School in Victoria is one such school and they are now looking to expand the use of iPads into students' homes. For further information, go to the article on the internet about Warringa Park School. We strive to provide quality programs for all of our students and we hope that the introduction of iPads will see even greater improvement in the learning outcomes for more of our students.
